  • Acupuncture is a traditional therapeutic practice designed to support the body’s natural capacity to heal and regulate itself. It involves the gentle stimulation of specific points on the body. I use very fine, sterile needles and sometimes heat or manual pressure, to encourage balance and promote positive physiological change.

Moxibustion is acupuncture’s less-known partner. It involves gently burning processed mugwort leaf on or near the body to stimulate acupoints. It has widespread application and will be used alongside acupuncture when suitable.

  • Bodywork can be integrated into your acupuncture session and may include therapeutic massage, cupping or gua sha.

Cupping uses specialised glass cups to create gentle suction on the skin, encouraging a lifting effect that supports circulation, eases muscular tension, and promotes relaxation. Cupping has widespread use in Chinese Medicine so may be incorporated into treatments for a variety of conditions.

Gua Sha is a technique that uses a smooth, blunt object like a Chinese soup spoon or a specialised tool to scrape areas of the body where there is tightness or pain in order to relax muscles and unblock stagnation. It is also often used in the early stages of a cold or flu to release ‘heat toxins’.

  • Constitutional Facial Acupuncture is a holistic treatment that blends traditional acupuncture principles with facial rejuvenation techniques. Rather than focusing only on the appearance of the skin, it considers your overall constitution — digestion, stress levels, sleep, hormones — as these internal factors are reflected in the face. Facial acupuncture is great for:

    • Acne

    • Eczema

    • Scarring

    • Fine lines

    • Sagging skin

  • In my practice, I work mostly within the tradition of classical herbal medicine, having completed further studies with the Institute of Classics in East Asian Medicine (ICEAM).

Herbal consultations are included with any acupuncture session or can be provided as a stand-alone session.

Formulas are prescribed as either raw herbs to take home and ‘decoct’, granules that you simply add warm water and stir, pills or tinctures. We will discuss these options during the consult and decide which form is best for you.

    Initial appointment: $135

    Return: $85

Herbal medicine prescriptions will incur an additional charge of between $38-$50 per week
